Hoensbroek Castle can call itself the ‘Most Beautiful Castle in the Netherlands’. In recent months, the ANWB, in collaboration with the Dutch Castle Foundation and the Cultural Heritage Agency, went in search of the most beautiful castle in the Netherlands. In addition to Hoensbroek Castle (LB), Westhove Castle (ZL), De Haar Castle (UT), Huis Bergh Castle (GD) and Doorwerth Castle (GD) were nominated.
“What an honor to receive even more national recognition for this educational and tourist gem in our region on ‘The Day of the Castle’. Hoensbroek Castle is regarded as one of the most beautiful in the Netherlands. We are very proud of the fact that there is now recognition that we are the most beautiful!” According to Jordy Clemens – Alderman for Culture and Heritage Municipality of Heerlen.
